Recently, while working on a show, I made a rookie mistake.
I was running a crew, loading in, and setting up a sizeable lighting system. After we hung the lights, we ran the multiconductor cable (typically called “Socapex cable,” even though Socapex is the brand of the 19-pin connectors on the cable) from the truss to the stage. When we got to the end of the cable bridge, I found we had run out of longer cables, so we had to use shorter ones. That meant that we would run the risk of having 19-pin connectors in mid-air.
